The Programs Committee is responsible for developing and evaluating strategies for the implementation of the National PTA Reflections Program and other programs and resources.

Chair:  Carol Ellis

Congratulations to all students who participated in this year's Free State PTA Reflections Program!

On March 1, the Free State PTA Programs Committee submitted 26 entries into the National PTA Reflections competition. Students from Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Frederick, Harford, Howard, and Montgomery Councils participated in the program as well as Mt. Harmony ES PTA from Calvert County. Free State PTA will award a total of 73 honors to student participants in July 2023, in conjunction with the Free State Annual Meeting.

The Outstanding Interpretation award in each age group per arts area is the highest honor.  All the 26 entries submitted to National were judged as Outstanding Interpretations.  In addition, an Award of Excellence and an Award of Merit is also given to 2nd and 3rd place entries in each age group per arts area.

Free State PTA offers Reflections to all local PTAs in Maryland that meet the standards of affiliation as prescribed by the Free State Board of Directors. Reflections is the popular cultural arts program first started in 1969.  Today, students may submit entries to their locals in Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts including 3-D art.
