Free State PTA is seeking dynamic and experienced leaders to fill the following vacant board positions:
Vice President for Leadership
Director at Large from an area without a council
Program Chair
These leadership roles are crucial in supporting and strengthening the collaboration between parents, teachers, and the community, ensuring successful advocacy programs and successful service delivery for constituent associations in Maryland.

BOARD VACANCY - Vice President for Leadership
Responsibilities:
The Vice President for Leadership shall develop and host leadership trainings/workshops for Free State Members, including Local, Council and State PTA leadership trainings
Review training requests and materials from FSPTA Committees and create Leadership Development Program to meet specific current needs.
Partner with National PTA and Corporate Sponsors to host Programmatic workshops
Facilitate the work of the Leadership Committee
Qualifications:
Each officer shall be a current member of an active local PTA chartered by Free State PTA
Each officer shall reside in the state of Maryland
To be eligible for the office of president-elect, a member shall have served at least one term on the Free State PTA Board of Directors before assuming office
Neither holds nor announces candidacy to any elected office
Application Process:

BOARD VACANCY - Director at Large from an area without a council
Responsibilities:
The Director at Large from an area without a council shall present Local Unit interests at executive committee and board of directors meetings
Work with the Field Service committee in the establishment of new local and council units
Develop and maintain a procedure book documenting duties, plans, successes, and failures encountered in the service of this position
Qualifications:
Each officer shall be a current member of an active local PTA chartered by Free State PTA
Each officer shall reside in the state of Maryland
To be eligible for the office of president-elect, a member shall have served at least one term on the Free State PTA Board of Directors before assuming office

BOARD VACANCY - Program Chair
Responsibilities:
Works with the Program Committee and other chairs to plan and organize programs for the school year
Collaborates with the principal, PTA president, other committee chairs and campus student groups to coordinate, plan and implement programs
Develops an annual program calendar and presents it at PTA association meeting for adoption
Publicizes the approved program calendar using newsletters, website, social networks and school handbook
Oversees volunteer recruitment and delegates tasks for implementing and running programs
Qualifications:
Each officer shall be a current member of an active local PTA chartered by Free State PTA
Each officer shall reside in the state of Maryland
To be eligible for the office of president-elect, a member shall have served at least one term on the Free State PTA Board of Directors before assuming office
